Portable Systems

Portable audio loop systems are available for use in situations away from home or for health care and social workers that interact with the hard of hearing in temporary locations.

The Sound Shuttle is a portable table top device that a hard of hearing person would own and use.  The Sound Shuttle is used to help the hard of hearing person to better hear and understand the person (up to about five or six others) across a table or desk.  Set it on the table or desk in front of you, turn on the hearing aid telecoil and hear!  For somewhat noisy environments, such as a restaurant, an external microphone can be added to improve the sound signal to the listener.

The Clipboard Induction Loop is a clipboard capable of producing an audio loop that can be heard by the hearing aid telecoil.  This device is well suited to health care, social workers and others who interact with the hard of hearing in their homes or in clinics.  The clipboard is used to carry the notes and charts, thus avoiding the need to carry extra equipment when interacting with the hard of hearing.  For noisier environments, or superior sound quality, an external microphone can be added to improve the sound signal to the listener.

Both of the above devices can be used in an educational setting by adding a wireless microphone to the system.  The wireless microphone is worn by the instructor and the student then hears direct sound from the microphone without the distraction of background noise or the ill effects of echoes and other acoustic difficulties.  These devices are well suited to hard of hearing students.
All of the above products are available from Better Hearing Solutions.  Another way to use your hearing aid telecoil for more ...
